THE newitts.com Beckett Football League kicks off on Saturday with a full programme of games.

The match of the opening day in the 10-team first division will see reigning champions Kirkbymoorside Reserves host last season’s fourth-placed finishers Union Rovers.

Promoted Wombleton Wanderers will be at home to Sinnington, runners-up last term, while the other promoted side, Slingsby, are also at home to Ryedale Sports Club Reserves.

Rosedale, under new manager/ secretary Alistair Wilkinson, entertain Bagby & Balk, who have been busy this summer signing several new players, while Heslerton welcome Thornton-le-Dale.

In the 12-team second division, relegated Gillamoor are at home to fellow relegated side Duncombe Park, while newcomers Brooklyn 3rds host Heslerton Reserves.

Stillington travel to Kirkdale United, Pickering Knights entertain Snainton Reserves, Thornton-le-Dale Reserves will play host to Union Rovers 2nds and Settrington Reserves take on visitors Norton United.

The first round of the York FA Saturday Junior Cup has pitched Duncombe Park into a home tie with Thorpe United Reserves, while Slingsby are at Pocklington Town Reserves. The two games will be played on Saturday, September 27.

In the East Riding CFA Junior Country Cup first round, Union Rovers are at home to Eastrington Village and Heslerton are away at Greyhound. The ties will be played on October 11.

On Saturday, October 4, Norton United host East Riding Rangers in the East Riding CFA Qualifying Cup first round.

The first round of the Scarborough & District FA Junior Cup sees a clash between Gilamoor and Wombleton Wanderers, while Kirkdale United will be at home to Rillington Athletic. Kirkbymoorside Reserves host Ryedale SC Reserves.

The first round games will be played on Saturday, September 20.
