MEMBERS of Malton Squash Club are inviting people to find out more about what is on offer at an open day on Saturday.
The club, in Old Maltongate, has recently been refurbished with a newly-decorated viewing area and bar.
Chairman Stephen Towse said the club was hoping to encourage more members of all ages to join.
"We have a qualified stage three coach who is available for private lessons for anyone who is interested in learning to play," he said.
"The club also offers racketball, which is suitable for older people as it is a slower game."
Stephen said the current membership ranged from young children to players in their 70s.
"We also offer an opportunity for people to meet socially and hold a number of events through the year including barbecues and an end of season dinner dance," he said.
"In addition the club has teams that compete in the York and District League and the first division of the Yorkshire League."
Stephen said demonstrations would take place during the open day and refreshments would be available.
"We will have players on court and anyone who comes along can have a go," he said.
"There will also be a special offer for anyone who is interested in joining on the day."
Malton Squash Club's open day takes place on Saturday, September 6, from 2pm to 5pm.
For more information, phone the club after 6pm on 01653 693139.
