BOTTOM-PLACED York produced one of their best performances when they had the better of a draw against division two north leaders Osbaldwick.

The table-toppers could only muster a total of 152-5 when bidding to chase down York’s innings of 180.

Star of the show was Gareth Fenton, who hit 87 for York as Jonny Rawsthorne took 3-39. The Osbaldwick man then followed with 26 while Matt Dunne made 37.

Sheriff Hutton were thrashed by Thirsk who won by ten wickets after bowling out their hosts for only 58.

Chief destroyer was Stuart Christon, who grabbed 7-11 while B Ellis took 3-24. Harry Consitt made 31no.

An unbeaten 104 by Ted Donkin steered Pocklington to a four-wicket win over Dringhouses when they successfully overhauled 216-6. Andrew Anderson followed his 5-58 haul with 44 to back up Donkin.

Acomb II consolidated their second place in division two south when they defeated Clifton Alliance by nine wickets.

Scott Nicholls claimed 4-35 and Ollie Fryer took 3-17. M Phillips was Clifton’s top scorer with 37 in a total of 120 all out.
