YOUCOULDNTMAKEITUP, who made a winning debut at Beverley earlier this month, is fancied to make it two from two at Ripon this afternoon.

North Yorkshire trainer Tim Easterby was far from surprised that the juvenile managed to score first time out, despite her starting price of 14-1.

A daughter of Captain Rio, Youcouldntmakeitup is open to a fair bit of improvement. She has more on her plate - and an extra furlong to gallop - in the At The Races Virgin 534 Nursery Handicap, but she looks potentially useful and is napped to follow-up. Duran Fentiman has the mount.

Easterby also has a good chance with Pacngo in the At The Races Sky 415 Maiden Fillies' Stakes after good efforts on this course and at Thirsk. She could well make it third-time-lucky here, but she is drawn one on the outside and in the circumstances she is overlooked in favour of Grand Beauty, who is drawn near the favoured stands rail. Richard Fahey's charge has finished a respectable runner-up both her races to date.

Sir Alex Ferguson is a member of the True Reds Partnership, owners of Snap Shots, who runs in the 21 Engineer Regiment Sapper Conditions Stakes.

The two-year-old has won two of his three starts, at Haydock and Bath and also boats placed form in Listed company. He promises to be hard to beat under Jenny Powell, whose 5lb apprentice allowance will aid his cause.

David O'Meara has a good Ripon record and the Nawton trainer has leading claims of landing the City Of Ripon Handicap, sponsored by At The Races, with Sophisticated Heir.

The gelding scraped home by a whisker from the in-form Woodacre at Beverley last time over a similar trip. There should be precious little to choose between the pair again, but Sophisticated Heir may again have the edge.

Mighty Missile, trained near Tadcaster by Tom Tate, went into many notebooks when narrowly beaten on this course ten days ago.

The three-year-old failed narrowly to beat Indira on this course last time out over a mile and a half. He should relish this step up to two miles and is expected to take plenty of beating under James Sullivan in the Visit attheraces.com/mobile Stayers Handicap.

At Epsom, Arctic Feeling can initiate a double at the Derby-winning course for Malton trainer Richard Fahey.

The consistent sprinter will be partnered in the John Akehurst Handicap by Samantha Bell, who steered the gelding to a stylish success at York last month. He has run well since in defeat at Haydock and is also a course and distance winner here. He should go well.

Gabrial The Thug can complete Fahey's double in the JRA Handicap with George Chaloner in the saddle.

The four-year-old has enjoyed a decent campaign and was beaten less than a length at Leicester last time out.

Also worthy of attention are the consistent Royal Connection (4.30) and recent winner Last Echo (4.30).
