ENTRIES are now being taken for all sections of the 2014 Trackrod Rally Yorkshire to be held in Ryedale on September 26-27.

The Trackrod Historic Cup - forming the seventh and final round of the West Wales Rally Spares RAC Championship and penultimate round of the Motoscope Northern Historic Championship - starts on the Friday evening, crossing the ceremonial start ramp and leaving the rally’s base at Pickering Showground from 7pm onwards.

The ‘Historic’ competitors, in cars all originally registered before 1987, plus crews in the Armstrong Massey Land Rover Challenge, undertake two high-speed tests in the forests of the North York Moors, in the dark, before restarting their bid for honours over five more stages the following day.

The Trackrod Forest Stages Rally - round eight of nine of the REIS BTRDA Gold and Silver Star Championships, among others - join the action on Saturday morning, departing from 8.31am.

Regulations and entry forms are available online at www.trackrodmotorclub.co.uk/index.php/ry-home/ry-competitors-information

The rally headquarters at Pickering Showground, a mile south of the town centre, is expected to be a hive of activity throughout the weekend with an inaugural Motor Fair, featuring exhibitions by owners' clubs, a rally car simulator, trade stands and displays, both inside and outside, plus a fun fair.

The showground also provides the central service area for all events and each will stage a ceremonial finish at the venue for each event followed by their respective awards presentations.
