SESSAY maintained their promotion bid when they defeated struggling Malton & Old Malton by seven wickets in division one of the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.

Malton were bowled out for 93 as Richard Till took 3-18 in six overs and Mark Wilkie then made 53 and Joe Watson 26 in Sessay’s successful response.

Heworth have a 34-point lead over second-placed Sessay after their seven-wicket win at Pickering.

Dave Greenlay made 71 and Chris Nicholls 31 in a Pikes total of 215-7, but Heworth’s batsmen hit back with 216-3 thanks to Neil Johnson's 64, Oliver Sherwood's 59 not out and Salman Syed's 48.

Casey Rudd hit 95 and Richard Lount made 31 as Bridlington totted up a total of 231-8 at Driffield.

Jamie Grieveson then made 58 not out and Carl Busfield 36 for the hosts, but Rudd's 4-41 had Driffield all out for 174.

Acomb’s last pair gained a draw with a total of 182-9 after hosts Goole had posted a target of 192-6.

Ben Earl was the top Goole batsman with 66, while Ollie Sugden added 35 as Acomb's Joe Dale took 5-40.

Dale then provided 28 runs with the bat and Andy Tute led the response with 84, but Dave England’s 4-51 left them struggling.

Selby's Matt Hoyle hit 81 and Tom Rich made 46 in a total of 173-8 against Folkton & Flixton, for whom Jamie Nesfield captured 3-32 and Harry Walmsley 3-35.

Walmsley then hit 59 and Neil Elvidge 37 in a two-wicket win, despite Tom Collins taking 4-32.
