HER Majesty the Queen's Estimate, who sensationally failed a dope test after finishing second in last month's Ascot Gold Cup, turns out in today's Artemis Goodwood Cup and will be the subject of close attention.

The five-year-old, trained by Sir Michael Stoute, was the winner of last year's Ascot Gold Cup, but after coming up marginally short in her bid to complete an outstanding double six weeks ago, she tested positive for morphine, which is thought to have stemmed from a contaminated batch of feed.

Estimate has ten rivals this afternoon, among them Angel Gabrial, trained by Richard Fahey, who steps up to Group 2 level after comfortably winning the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle on his latest start.

A bold bid is expected from the Malton gelding, but he has a tough task with the likes of Brown Panther and Cavalryman in opposition, quite apart from Estimate, who boasts some excellent form credentials and might well be a better mare now than she was at Ascot when she was having her first outing of the season. Ryan Moore rides.

Iwawood will be hard to beat in the Qatar Bloodstock Richmond Stakes.

Trained by Richard Hannon, the colt is unbeaten in two starts and was most impressive when landing the July Stakes at Newmarket on his latest outing.

Jockey Richard Hughes has gone on record as saying that Iwawood is the best of the Hannon juveniles this year and although he has to give 3lb away to his rivals here, the task should not be beyond him.

The opening Fairmount Handicap has attracted an array of promising and talented three-year-olds. The pick could well be Rosemount, trained by Luca Cumani and the mount of Richard Hughes.

Roseburg has won his last three races, making steady improvement each time. There is probably more to come from him as sits on the threshold of entering the Pattern race arena.

In the Sterling Insurance Lily Langtry Stakes, Irish raider Missunited may be the one to be on.

Trained by Michael Winters, the seven-year-old ran a blinder to finish third in the Ascot Gold Cup after making much of the running. Nothing if not game and consistent, she looks sure to go well.

Also worth noting are the promising Shagah (4-20) and the ultra-consistent Saucy Minx (5-25).

Today's nap selecton is Bronze Beau in the Mia Long Run Home Handicap.

Trained by Kristin Stubbs, who earlier this week at Ayr equalled her total 2013 score of 12 winners when Gold Beau won, Bronze Beau is likewise owned by Norton enthusiast Dave Arundale.

The seven-year-old has been running respectably lately, at Beverley and Doncaster, and may be about to return to winning form over this minimum trip which suits him perfectly. He is plainly not to be underestimated.

Mark Johnston can be another North Yorkshire trainer to figure on the Nottingham scoresheet.

He saddles Alpine Storm in the BDN Construction Handicap. The three-year-old ran out a gutsy winner at Ripon last week and, with Adrian Nicholls back on board, it would be no surprise to see a 6lb penalty being denied.

Two others to keep on the right side at Nottingham are Roger Varian's newcomer Queen's Pearl (2-25) and Piddie's Powe (4-05), lightly-raced this season and looking like a return to form could be imminent after a decent effort at Doncaster.
