DAVID O'MEARA, who pipped Richard Fahey right on the line to clinch the Go Racing In Yorkshire Summer Festival leading trainers' title, which concluded at Pontefract on Sunday, can continue his winning run at Beverley today.

The Nawton trainer is fancied to complete a double with Berlusca and Mariners Moon, both mounts of his stable jockey Danny Tudhope.

Berlusca comes into the Wilford Watts Memorial Handicap in good heart, following a creditable third to his stablemate Anderiego at York last Friday evening.

A reproduction of that form would probably be good enough to clinch this £10,000 event.

Mariners Moon runs in the Beverley Middle Distance Series Handicap over a mile and a half.

Although he finished last of three over this trip at Thirsk last time out, that was a better race than this, won by Penhill, who has since followed up at Ripon. Mariners Moon is worth another chance to prove himself over the distance.

Richard Fahey can also figure on the Beverley scoresheet with Rainford Glory in the opening Happy 80th Birthday Lenny Salt Selling Handicap.

George Chaloner's mount was successful over this course and distance two outings ago and has since finished a respectable third at Ayr. He is napped to resume winning ways.

City Ground can win the Lady Jane Bethell Memorial Amateur Riders' Handicap.

The Mick Easterby-trained gelding has finished second in his last two races, including over this course and distance last time when Serena Brotherton, his rider today, was in the saddle. Compensation is forthcoming.

Also worth noting on the Westwood are the promising Saltarello (2.50), who will appreciate the step up in distance, and recent Ripon winner Rich Again (4.00).

The opening day of Glorious Goodwood sees Fahey's Garswood bidding to win the Group 2 Lennox Stakes for the second successive year.

The classy colt has not enjoyed the rub of the green so far this season, but he retains all his ability and it would be no surprise to see him winning this useful and valuable contest for a second time. Ryan Moore, pictured, in the saddle last year, again takes the mount.

O'Meara's Repeater, a talented but notoriously tricky horse, has claims in the bet365 Summer Handicap, but preference is for Havana Cooler, trained by Luca Cumani.

This progressive handicapper finished a close-up sixth in the Old Newton Cup at Haydock earlier this month, staying on stoutly over a mile and a half. This extra two furlongs will suit him even better and is fancied to come out on top and, perhaps, book his place in the Betfred Ebor Handicap at York next month.

In the bet365 Molecomb Stakes, Fast Act is not to be underestimated representing Kevin Ryan.

The Hambleton trainer holds this colt in high regard and, after placing him to win at Carlisle, he finished an excellent third on his latest start in the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury. There is more to come from Fast Act, who will have the services of Jamie Spencer.

Also worthy of attention at the Sussex track are Paul Hanagan's mount Gworn (1.55) and the speedy Barnet Fair (5.20), trained by Dandy Nicholls.
