FIVE riders took part in Malton Wheelers' latest five-mile time trial on the Malton to Pickering road - braving the threat of a storm and a strong wind that made the test even more difficult.

In-form Matthew Enticknap was hoping for another win and at the turn was at least five seconds in front of closest rival Paul Hickman. But Hickan finished in 11 minutes 11 seconds, six seconds ahead.

Cameron Turner was pleased to finish third in 12-22, while the club's youngest rider, 17-year-old Brandon Stock, clocked 12-55. The returning Mark Devine, aboard a standard fixed wheel machine, finished with a decent time of 13-37.

The Wheelers' next time trial is a 10-miler on the Malton to Pickering course tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm, with a road race following tomorrow (Thursday) on the Kirby Misperton circuit at 7pm.
