NOODLES BLUE BOY, who is no stranger to success at Beverley, returns to the Westwood this evening with a sound chance of resuming winning ways.

Trained at Norton by Ollie Pears, the gelding lines up in the Richard and Carol Hudson Handicap over five furlongs with Joe Fanning in the saddle.

Noodles Blue Boy has won three times at Beverley. His latest effort saw him finish seventh on the course to Thatcherite, which was a respectable effort, while his penultimate outing produced a runner-up performance at Leicester behind Tyfos.

Drawn in stall eight, Noodles Blue Boy has good prospects of gaining his first win of the season in this trappy handicap.

Mick Easterby, who sent out Le Deluge to win at Redcar yesterday, can strike again with Tamayuz Magic in the featured £10,000 Weatherbys Stallion Book Handicap.

The mount of Barry McHugh, pictured, Tamayuz Magic has improved steadily this season and was a good winner at Ripon last time out. He is up only 2lb for that success which makes him competitive again over this extended seven furlongs.

Tony Coyle steps Checkpoint up to a mile and a quarter in the Barry Parker Memorial Handicap.

The gelding won the Macmillan Charity Race at York last month, a race that is not included in the form book, but will be remembered for evermore by Chloe Fairley, who rode him.

Narrowly beaten at Pontefract on his next outing, Checkpoint has since finished unplaced at Chester where he seemed to find things a bit too quickly for him. This stiffer test of stamina should suit him better and he provides McHugh with a good chance of completing a double.

The SPS Group Maiden Handicap over two miles will not take much winning and Telegraphy, who makes the journey from Ed Dunlop's Newmarket yard, may prove the solution.

Although his form is hardly water-tight, the three-year-old has shown glimpses of ability, not least when fourth to Chivers over a mile and a half on this course. This longer trip should suit him better.

Up at Ayr, Surround Sound may be able to clinch the Kilmarnock Standard Handicap for Tim Easterby and David Allan.

The four-year-old was far from disgraced when fourth to World Record at Beverley last time out and may not have to improve much on that performance to nail this modest-looking event.

Sound Advice will be a popular choice in the featured £22,000 Daily Record Handicap.

Keith Dalgleish's charge bounced back to top form on this course last time out when making all and winning by five lengths.

In that sort of form, Sound Advice will take plenty of catching today, even off his revised handicap mark. Tom Eaves has the mount.

Norton-based Eaves can also win the Ayrshire Post Handicap on Jinky, who is tremendous heart at the moment.

Runner-up to Goninodaethat on this course last week, Jinky now meets his penalised conqueror on 6lb better terms which should be enough to turn the tables. His trainer Linda Perratt, after a slowish start to the campaign, has her horses in tremendous heart at the moment.

Also worth noting in Scotland are Gowanharry (3.20), who could be about to strike form and who will appreciate the rain that has fallen at Ayr in the last 48 hours, and Rowlestone Lass (5.25), who is overdue a winning turn.
