ROB HEATH shot a six-under-par 66 at Sandburn Hall Golf Club and still didn’t win the Flaxton course’s midweek medal.

Heath, golf manager at the track just off the A64, fired an outward 32 - with birdies at the third, fourth, fifth and ninth - and an inward 34. He picked up shots on the 14th, 16th and 17th.

The 23-year-old’s only bogey came at the 12th.

It was enough to claim division one honours but Heath missed out on the overall prize as 25-handicapper Paul Walker shot a nett 65 to edge him out by a stroke.

Heath’s stellar round, though, improved his handicap from 0.2 to -0.4.
