DIVISION two south leaders Acomb suffered their first defeat when they were shocked by relegation threaten Hull Zingari.

Scott Nicholls made 32 and James Fletcher 27 for Acomb, but Mike Gravill’s seasonal best 6-29 had the York side all out for 146. Andrew Martin then hit 43 and Mahir Youseff 39 as Zingari won by four wickets.

Unbeaten knocks from Tim Smith (60no) and Rob Fish (43no) took Beverley Town to a ten-wicket win over Driffield, who had been dismissed for 109.

There was a run riot at Hornsea as 610 runs were scored for the loss of just ten wickets, with the hosts getting the better of a draw with Londesborough Park.

Hornsea made a huge 342-4 as Paul Clappison cracked 124 and Doug Griebenhouw 109 not out.

Greg Drewery hit an unbeaten 115 and Phil Stothard added 60 but Griebenhouw captured 3-45 to restrict Park to 268-6.

Patrington were clipped three points when Clifton Alliance’s last pair held out for a draw at Shipton Road.

Mark Pollard made 68 and Ashley McKinley was unbeaten with 73 as Patrington posted a total of 280-5.

In reply, W Scholey made 39 and Ryan Turner 37 not out but Clifton were hanging on at 140-9.

Bottom-placed Thorp Arch & Boston Spa also had the better of a draw when they made 163-8 and Welton & Brough closed on 137-9.

Harry Contreras made 26 and Ethan Parsons 45 for Spa and Guy Whatmore then claimed 3-33.
