MALTON Wheelers enjoyed another cracking day for their latest five-mile time trial on the Malton to Pickering road with only a nagging cross wind to contend with.

Paul Hickman was triumphant with first position in a time of 10 minutes 51 seconds with Nigel Goscinski in second with 10-59.

There was quite a gap to third, with Cameron Turner filling this spot, riding aero with a time of 12-09.

Mark Devine rode again and is loving getting back into racing. He finished fourth in 12-12, while long-time “tester” Barrie Cappleman followed in 12-21.

In sixth position was Sam Leng (13-31) who is now in tune with the rigours of time trialling and is putting in some good times, while Glen Hull (13-51) is still giving it all.

Newcomers and best buddies Andrea Wood and Helen Conman had their first crack at being timed in the Wheelers club event and finished in 13-57 and 14-47, while old-timer Keith Buck brought home the lantern rouge in 15-13.

The Wheelers' next time trial is a 10-miler on a hilly course from Swinton tonight (Wednesday).
