SIMON DYSON is among those bidding to ruin Martin Kaymer’s welcome home party at the BMW International Open.

The 36-year-old York-born European Tour ace gets straight back into action following a bizarre end to his Irish Open challenge last week which saw him miss the half-way cut.

Dyson, a former Irish Open champion, was seemingly cruising in County Cork before playing partner Brett Rumford’s ball at the 17th hole of the second round - a mistake that would cost him a treble bogey six.

The BMW International Open, at the Golf Club Gut Larchenhof, has been billed as a week of celebration for Kaymer, who returns to Germany a fortnight after winning his second major title at the US Open.

Ernie Els won the title 12 months ago with a wire-to-wire victory and Dyson, six times a winner on the tour, must see off the likes of Sergio Garcia, Thomas Bjorn and world number two Henrik Stenson if he is to get his hands on a seventh trophy.

He tees off from the tenth hole at 11.20am British time with fellow countryman Paul Waring and South African Jbe Kruger.
