Tim Bresnan has been released from England’s one-day squad to play for Yorkshire in tonight’s NatWest T20 Blast clash with the Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston.
The all-rounder did not play in yesterday’s opening one-day international against Sri Lanka at the Oval, but he will return to national duty ahead of Sunday’s second ODI at Durham, meaning he will not be available for the Roses Championship match.
Yorkshire warmed up for tonight’s fixture with three wins over league opposition at Sheffield on Monday, Harrogate on Tuesday and York’s Clifton Park on Wednesday.
“Twenty20 is a game of momentum and confidence,” said Yorkshire captain Andrew Gale, whose side lost their opener against Northamptonshire.
“It doesn’t matter who you’re playing against - if you can execute your plans, confidence and momentum will come. We didn’t have much preparation time. I think we’ll be better after some decent preparation this week.”
