SCARBOROUGH Athletic have double reason to celebrate despite missing out on the Evo-Stik League division one south play-offs, writes Josh Luckhurst.

The club have announced they will submit planning permission for the Weaponness Sports Village in July in a bid to bring football back to the town for the first time since 2007.

Since reforming, they have been ground-sharing with Bridlington Town. The club now plan to return home and move back to Scarborough in 2016 when work is expected to be completed.

Next season, meanwhile, Boro will move from the Evo-Stik division one south to division one north, making more geographical sense and entailing less travel expense.
