THREE sides are setting the early premier division pace after two games of the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League campaign.

Easingwold are joint top of the table along with Fenner and Woodhouse Grange after sealing their second win.

Their home encounter with Hull Zingari saw three of their batsmen pass the 50 mark as Steve Piercy hit 67, Kyle Waite 68 and Paul Skilbeck 57.

Calum Helwig had 5-34 and Matt Scarr 3-50 for Zingari, who were dismissed for 127 as Rich Lindsay grabbed 6-40. Guy Martinson made 41.

Russ Robinson hit 64 as Sewerby took first innings at champions Woodhouse Grange.

Mal Artley added 27 and Rich Robinson an unbeaten 29 as Nick Hadfield’s 3-45 limited the Coasters to 174-8.

Grange lost four wickets fairly cheaply but then clinched victory without further mishap as Chris Bilton hit 76 not out and Mike Hattee 39 not out.

After sensationally winning a record low scoring game on the opening day, Fenner clinched their second win at the expense of Stamford Bridge in another bowler dominated affair.

Stamford were bowled out for 111 by a three-pronged attack of Luke Laybourne (3-24), Steve Sergeant (3-27) and Grant Van Es (3-31).

Fenner then lost a trio of early wickets before Will Parker (46no) and Graham Williamson (29no) logged a seven-wicket victory.

Dunnington suffered a heavy home defeat when they crashed by 122 runs to Studley Royal, whose 249-8 was the day’s highest total in the top flight.

Their innings featured three half-centuries, with Rob Mackle top-scoring on 67 while Gary Blackburn added 62 and Steve Walmsley 52.

For the hosts, Adam Sutcliffe took 3-55 and Adam Iyer 4-88.

In reply, Kev Bradley made 48 but Dunnington were dismissed for 127 as Matt Coad (4-32) and Harry Lamb (3-22) held sway.

Richard Love hit a fine century for York as they entertained Sheriff Hutton Bridge in a high-scoring drawn match.

Love survived one chance but went on to hit 125. K McAdam, batting at number eight, did a fine job in making 39 not out to boost the home total to 231-8. Bridge's Mark Fisher took 3-56 and Ben Harrison 3-52.

Ben Gill added 27 to a good day as stumper and then Mark Fisher's unbeaten 48 enabled Bridge to pouch 19 points as their innings closed on 210-9. Chris Burn (3-51) and McAdam (3-37) were the pick of the home bowlers.

At Beverley, the home side gained full points when they defeated Clifton Alliance by 66 runs, thanks to some good batting by Anthony Spence, who made 78, and Jon Fisher, with 70.

Their efforts enabled the hosts to make 227, despite Alex Renton's 3-55 and Andy Parkinson's 3-47.

In reply, John Gilham made 46 but the scene was stolen by A Morrell, with 3-46, and Roe, who grabbed 3-15.
