HEWORTH wrapped up their second outright win in a successful outing to Folkton & Flixton in division one of the York & District Senior Cricket League.

Folkton's 138 all out was some 58 runs short of Heworth’s 196. Topping the poll for the visitors was Sam Lingard, who made 66, but there were good bowling figures for homesters Rich Malthouse, with 4-46.

Bolton Percy had an early success over Acomb, who were only able to make 124-9 when batting first. Their top scorer was Richard Sykes, who made 30, but the first half honours were grasped by Andrew Brewster with 4-26 and Tom Atkinson with 4-18.

When Bolton replied, Tom Atkinson hit 50 and Jacob Green 31 before an unbeaten 28 by Tom Malloch clinched a six-wicket win for the newly-promoted side.

Steve Smith hit a valuable 48 when Goole batted first at Malton & Old Malton, whose Wayne Dawson had an impressive 6-47 to dismiss the visitors for 151.

Dawson followed with 25 and Will Spencer chipped in with 36 as Malton held out for a draw at 104-9.

Selby’s Tom Collins hit 71 and Matt Hoyle made 51 when their side batted first at Bridlington and made exactly 200.

For the hosts, Sam Edmundson took 3-39 and then watched as Casey Rudd rattled 113 to earn Brid a fine three-wicket win despite the 4-31 returned by Josh Cruise.

Pickering veteran Dave Greenlay was in fine form when he claimed 3-21 and then made an unbeaten 86 to help his side to an eight-wicket win over Driffield.

Bowling-wise, he was well supported by J Christopher, who had 3-30 as Driffield were held to 179-9. Their principle run-makers were Kev Woodcock, with 35, and Andy Chapman, with 44.

When the Pikes responded, Christopher made 25 then Colin Frank (42no) joined forces with Greenlay.

Whitkirk recorded a fine win over hosts Sessay, one of the division’s fancied sides.

Joe Watson hit an unbeaten 53 and Chris Till made 35, but Ben Danby’s 3-28 helped peg the hosts to 152-7.

After the break, Richard Simpson took control with an unbeaten 78, while Mark Murphy weighed in with 28 in a winning total of 153-5.
