Royal Oak dented WMC ‘B’s attempts to finish as runners-up in the Pickering Darts League by beating them 4-3.
Captain John Bristow got the WMC off to a good start, hitting five 100s and a 140 for legs of 19 and 21 darts.
Oak hit back through Steve Dawson with a 140 plus a 100 in a 19-darter and Martin Cook with legs of 23 and 18, and they went on to claim victory in the deciding three-a-side leg.
Lowly Horseshoe ‘B’ finished their season on a high, defeating the ever-increasing Black Swan squad 4-3.
Swan’s 21st signing of the season, Stu Watmore, could not live up to his star billing as Shaun Lockwood with two 100s and a 140 put him away 2-0.
John Rule’s 180 in a 20-darter was a highlight for Swan but he lost his match 2-1 to Terry Harper.
Phil Bointon, with a 16-darter, and Steve Taylor, with legs of 21 and 22, gave champions Rec Club an early lead but WMC ‘A’ fought back to earn a fine 4-3 victory on the night.
Horseshoe ‘A’ rounded off with a 7-0 victory over Station Hotel.
Nick Cass hit a 100 plus a 140 in a 21-dart leg, Kev Wilson had a 180 in a 20-darter and Billy Hague rounded off an 18-darter with a tidy 80 finish on bull.
Sun Inn ‘B’ beat their ‘A’ team 6-1, Liam Dawson stopping the whitewash with a fine win over Rob Aconley.
