INJURY-HIT Selby signed off their Yorkshire One campaign with a 39-0 defeat at North Ribblesdale.

The Swans, already missing a host of first-teamers before full-back Ben Lunt and second row Matthew Wood dropped out, trailed 29-0 after only 23 minutes.

The hosts boasted tries from wingers Simon Bolland and Ryan Gill (2), fly-half Steven Moon and full-back Josh McFarlane.

After a poor first-half performance, Selby improved after the break but what little pressure they exerted failed to bring any reward.

Further tries from prop Ethan Henare and Bolland wrapped up Selby’s heaviest defeat of the season.

York beat bottom side Acklam 52-6 and one win from their remaining two games will see them leapfrog Selby into sixth place.

Relegated Malton & Norton exited North One East with a 63-21 defeat at champions Cleckheaton.

Bottom side Malt bagged the first try on ten minutes when centre Kenton Leiataua sped through the home defence from his own 22-metre area for a superb score. Ian Cooke converted.

The home side then took control and ran in five first-half tries to lead 35-7 at the break.

At the start of the second period, Leiataua pounced on the ball at the back of a ruck and ran through a mass of bodies to get his second try, with Cooke converting.

After Cleck again showed their class with four further tries, the game closed with Malton running a tap penalty close to the line. The maul drove forward and substitute John Lumley came up with a try, converted by Cooke.

Pocklington finished sixth in the table after a 40-14 defeat at Sheffield.

A lineout catch and drive brought a first-half try for lock Dan Wilson that teenage fly-half Dan Elliot converted.

Pock then got the final score when centre Joe Holbrough took the ball up and Josh Britland finished well, Elliot converting.

York RI finished ninth in Yorkshire Four after completing their fixtures with a 36-12 defeat at champions Old Otliensians.

The leaders opened with a penalty and although RI answered with a Danny Spencer try, the hosts scored two tries deep into first-half injury time.

In the second half, Otliensians scored two more tries, but Spencer beat three men to score a try and Baptiste Briu added the conversion. In the sixth minute of injury time, the home side scored another try.

RI’s man of the match was Yohan Barthelemy.
