NEW Globe 'Z' are again champions in the Malton & Norton Darts League men's 'A' division - finishing the season with a 8-0 whitewash of Derwent Arms 'A'.

Runners-up Derwent Arms 'B' won 7-1 at Royal Oak 'A' with Cameron Spiller checking out on 104 and 142. Spiller and Paul Bulmer also had a fantastic 20-dart leg in the pairs, while Oak's Michael Scatcherd hit a 14-dart leg.

Royal Oak 'B' beat Derwent Arms 'G' 6-1 with Ian Townley (Derwent) and Mike Linsley (Royal Oak) hitting maximums.

Bright Steels are relegated to the 'B' league after losing 6-2 at home to New Globe 'A'.

Globe's John Spoors had a 16-dart leg including scores of 100, 180 and123, while team-mate Stuart Whatmore also hit 180.

Union capped promotion to the 'A' league with an 8-0 win over Gate Inn.

They remain the only unbeaten team in the 'B' league.

Derwent Arms 'C' are runners up after drawing 4-4 at Railway, who have finished third.

Basement side Derwent 'W' lost 7-1 to New Globe 'B' with Michael King taking the only point for Derwent thanks to a 100 checkout. Derwent also 'X' lost 7-1 to the Hyde Park.

The ladies' league has two more rounds of fixtures to play, with the three New Globe teams battling it out for the title.

Globe 'B' and Globe 'C' drew their crucial match leaving the latter a single point ahead at the top.

Sue Selby (Globe 'B') hit two 100s and a 125. Globe C’s Sheena Clayton also hit two 100s scores and team-mate Jayne Burdett a 108.

New Globe 'A' are third , four points off the top as they won 5-3 against Derwent Arms.

Royal Oak 'B' drew 4-4 with Royal Oak 'C', with tons scored by Sophie Stier, Donna Frank, Sarah Lightfoot and sisters Lisa and Laura Abbott.

Gate Inn beat=t Royal Oak 'A' 5-3 and the Union won 6-1 at Hyde Park.

This year’s finals and presentation night will be held on Friday, April 4, from 7.30pm, at the Railway Club. Tickets, which include a buffet, entry into a cash raffle and disco, are £3 each and are available from New Globe.

Meanwhile, Pickering Recreation Club remain top of the Pickering League after a hard -fought win over Sun Inn 'B'.

Phil Bointon threw six 100s on his way to legs of 16 and 18 darts. Nige Monkman hit back with legs of 19 and 18 darts and rounded off with a 95 finish.

Horseshoe 'A' beat their 'B' team 6-1. Tony Barber won with a 100 finish, Mike Brown fired a great 15-darter including three 100s and a superb 141 finish, and they finished with a 86 finish from Nick Cass in the three-a-side. Shaun Lockwood gained Horseshoe 'B’s point.

WMC 'B' also won 6-1 at Station Hotel. Cameron Spiller hit legs of 23 and 21 with finishes of 64 and 68, while Geoff Atkinson hit a 104 finish and followed with 100 and 140 in a 19-dart winning leg.

Black Swan beat Sun Inn 'A' 5-2 though the outstanding player was Sun’s 15-year-old Liam Dawson who hit two 140s, 137 and 100 in defeating Rob Umpleby.

Royal Oak captain Martin Cook hit four 100s and a 140 to get his team off to a good start but WMC 'A' hit back to win 4-3.
