MITCH COOK hopes his Pickering Town team can spark into life tonight for the NCEL League Cup quarterfinal clash with Long Eaton (7.45pm).

The Pikes host league rivals who beat them 3-0 at the Recreation Ground at the start of February and Cook believes they are dangerous opponents.

He will be without Jamie Patterson but said: “We are in the last eight against a team that beat us in the league a couple of weeks ago.

“It’s going to be a difficult game and they have got nothing to lose as well. We have to perform on a more consistent basis but it is a cup quarter-final and I am looking for a bit of spark from the lads. They want to achieve something and you are in it to try and win.”
