Pair Of Jacks, who virtually ran out on the paddock bend at Market Rasen last time before staying on to finish fourth, can gain compensation at Wetherby tomorrow.

Going right-handed caused the Malcolm Jefferson-trained gelding a few problems in Lincolnshire and Brian Hughes had trouble negotiating him around the course and virtually pulled him up with a circuit to race. Hughes got him going again and Pair Of Jacks stayed on, albeit well adrift of the three principals.

A winner at Catterick in a bumper last season, Pair Of Jacks has shown a fair level of ability. Before Market Rasen, he had finished third in novice company at Newcastle.

The left-handed Wetherby course should suit Pair Of Jacks, who is napped to come good in the Watch Racing UK On Sky 432 Maiden Hurdle.

Whiskey Ridge may prove the answer to the feature race on the card, the New Racing UK Anywhere Available Now Handicap Chase.

The eight-year-old, trained by Sue Smith, who has such a good record at this venue, has been in good form lately, winning at Sedgefield two outings ago and following-up with a creditable third-placed effort on the same course. He can make the most of bottom weight.

Smith can also score with Kent Street in the Watch Racing UK On Channel 432 Handicap Hurdle. The nine-year-old ran creditably to finish third at Southwell a couple of weeks ago on his first outing since mid-November.

In the Follow @WetherbyRaces On Twitter Handicap Chase, Everaard should go well for Phil Kirby.

The eight-year-old has found a rich seam of form lately, winning over hurdles at Doncaster before chasing home Herdsman over fences at Catterick.

At Southwell, Stand Guard, the most prolific all-weather winner ever in Britain, will be hard to beat in the Coral Mobile Selling Stakes.

The John Butler-trained gelding won twice in a matter of days on this course a couple of weeks ago. He should be too good for his rivals in another modest contest.

Freddie Tylicki, who rode a double on this course last week, is reunited with the first of his winners, Caramelita in the bookmakers.co.uk Handicap which opens the card.

Although better known over six furlongs, Caramelita coped admirably with the drop to the minimum trip on her latest start. A 6lb penalty may not prevent her from completing a quick double for trainer John Jenkins, whose horses remain in good form.

Hayley Turner has a big following at this venue, her local track, and she has good prospects aboard A Little Bit Dusty in the Coral App Download From The App Store Handicap.

Connor Dore's gelding has won three of his last four starts, his latest success coming a week ago when Turner got a great tune out of him. He will not go down without a fight as he seeks another win.
