MALTON Royal Oak ‘A’ have returned to the top of Malton & Norton Pool League division ‘A’ after whitewashing Union ‘B’.

Derwent Arms ‘B’ struggled to a 4-3 win over Spotted Cow and drop to second but two wins in their last two games will secure them a third straight title.

The final of the Ladies’ Individuals will be a repeat of last year as champion Claire Jackson meets Union team-mate Kirsty Taylor. They beat Lynsey Lack and Dilys Wright respectively in the semi-finals.

In the Men’s competition, Jamie Barstow beat Royal Oak ‘A’ team-mate Dougie Pauley and Darren Craggs (Bright Steels ‘A’) edged Spencer Ward (Royal Oak ‘A’).
