ADAM MILNER, the talented youngster from Leavening, grabbed the overall win from Scarborough’s James Carr in a high-scoring motorcycle trials event at Long Plain Farm, high on the Hambleton Hills.
The Thirsk District Motor Club venue proved at its most difficult on Sunday, heavy overnight rain adding extra bite to the course.
Carr – in his first time out on a new AM JTG - stuck with Milner until the latter delivered a touch of magic on the difficult eighth section, cleaning every lap. Carr lost ground, and the trial, with 11 marks on his score.
Veteran Willie Wood, from Huttonle- Hole, grabbed fourth in clubman ‘B’ class.
