WOMBLETON’S Shane Monkman topped the intermediate class when Eboracum Motor Club ran their Kay Trophy Trial.
It was held at Eboracum’s popular Ouseburn venue on Sunday, and the land proved remarkably dry considering the amount of recent rainfall.
An entry of 90 turned out for a day of hard competition over a four-lap, 10-section course which included woodland climbs, streams and rocks.
Gas Gas rider Monkman won his category ahead of Fryup’s Nikita Smith, while Pocklington’s Ollie Kendra produced the top ride to lift the main trophy in expert class.
The trial incorporated the third round of the East Yorks Youth Championship.
Scarborough duo Zac Collinson and Callum Williamson fought for dominance in the youth ‘B’ class, with Collinson having a superb ride of just three marks lost on the difficult fifth section.
