MALTON enjoyed a tremendous 20-0 win at close rivals Chapel Allerton 2 in the Yorkshire League.

There were 3-0 wins for Jamie Hopwood, Simon Middleton, Mike Catling and Joe Woodhead, with Jonathan Everitt given a walkover.

As a result, the team leapt three places up to fourth in division one.

In the York & District League, Malton I had a 16-7 victory over Stillington I to consolidate fourth place in division one. Malt’s winners were Everitt, Rob Taylor and Andy Phillips.

Malton III beat University Students III 17-6, with wins from Ian Kneeshaw, Dan Gilbank and Andy Criddle. Neil Burnett lost narrowly, going down 10-8 in the final game. The team are third in division four.

In the York Ladies’ League, Malton I lost 15-7 at home to David Lloyd I.

There were wins for Sue Preston and Fiona Brown, with Denise Bigg gaining Malt’s other point.

The team are 11 points clear of division one’s bottom club, Wigginton I.

In division two, Malton II won 16-8 at Stillington I and remain in second place.

There were wins for Helen Craggs, Kat Smith and Nicky Smith, with Emma Clarke and Lynn Watson also each grabbing a point.

There is a club night every Saturday, from 5pm to 7pm. Newcomers can go along and try squash or racketball for free.
