DESPITE a second sub-par round Simon Dyson missed the cut for the weekend half of the Joburg Open.

The York ace posted a second successive one-under-par round of 70 at the Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club to leave him two under-par.

But the midway cut was put at four-under which meant the world number 166 was unable to follow up the solid form he had shown in last two European Tour events when he won more than 40,000 euros and advanced 12 places in the world rankings.

Danny Willett, the South Yorkshireman coached by Graham Walker, the head pro at The Oaks GC, was tied for fifth place.

Willett was two shots shy of joint leaders Edoardo Molinari and Craig Lee, after he followed a first day 69 with a 65.
