SIMON DYSON saved his best for last as a closing round of 67 shot him up into a tie for 20th place at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

The North Yorkshire star had slipped down the leaderboard to 37th after a one over par 73 on Saturday, but he produced a faultless round of golf on the final day.

A lone birdie on the front nine - at the par five third hole - and four consecutive pars after the turn were followed by a spectacular finale of four birdies in the last five holes.

That run left Dyson on ten under par for the tournament at the Emirates Golf Club, six adrift of winner Stephen Gallacher.
