A PAIR of double bogeys on the front nine undermined North Yorkshire golfer Simon Dyson's third round at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

The Malton & Norton Golf Club ace birdied the opening hole of the day, but a seven at the par five third hole erased that flying start.

Dyson then bogeyed the par four eighth hole before carding a six at the par four ninth to reach the turn four over par.

Having steadied the ship with six pars in a row, Dyson then fired a hat-trick of birdies on the last three holes to move back up into a tie for 37th place on five under par for the tournament.

Dyson heads into tomorrow's closing round 11 shots adrift of leader Stephen Gallagher.
