HIGH-CALIBRE company will be among the sharp-shooters York’s Simon Dyson will do battle with in the bid for a desert storm tomorrow.

Dyson is one of the early starters in the star-studded Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

The $2½ million event has attracted a field topped by world number one Tiger Woods and leading British player Rory McIlroy.

The 36-year-old Dyson has been paired with Argentina’s José Coceres and Frenchman Gregory Havret.

He will be buoyed by last week’s encouraging show in the Qatar Masters in Doha, where his joint 16th place netted him just over £20,000 in prize money.

Dyson advanced five positions to 174th place in the world rankings and he is up to 39th spot in the Race to Dubai standings.
