New Inn have a one-point lead at the top of the Moors League thanks to a highly satisfactory 8-2 victory over Coach House ‘B’.

Nie Monkman led the charge with three 100s and a 95 checkout, supported by Ady Cook, who recorded 121, 100 and a 53 finish.

Richard Thompson won his leg for House and paired with Becky Mussett for their other point.

Moors Inn moved into second with a 10-0 whitewash of Buck Inn ‘A’. Mick Barnes produced a man-of-the-match performance with scores of 140, 128 and two 121s.

White Swan lie a point lower in third after a hard-fought encounter with Blacksmith’s Arms ‘B’, which they edged 6-4.

Eddie Craggs starred for Swan with two 140s and two 100s in a 26-dart leg, while team-mates Tim Nichols (140, 3x100), Neil Eddon (140, 116, 100) and Keith Eddon (100, 82 finish) also performed well.

Ash Hodgson, Jonno Bointon (125, 100) and Rob Allanson (2x100) recorded victories in reply for Blacksmith’s.

Sun Inn’s Neil Robson hit a maximum, a 125 and a 100 scores as he beat Coach House ‘A’s Mike Dale (115, 2x100) to set his team up for an impressive 8-2 away win.

Jimmy Porter (3x100) and Laura Thompson grabbed the consolation points for House.

Blacksmith’s Arms ‘A’ and Crown Inn played out a see-saw match which saw Crown grab a 6-4 victory in the last leg. Jim Blacklock, Darren Sunley and Norman Tinsley won individual legs for Crown with Matt and Adam Durrant and Andy Biggins replying.

The Pickering Rec Club Individual League resumed after the festive break with rounds 13 and 14 – which saw a change of luck for Phil Taylor.

Basement man Taylor broke his ‘A’ league duck at the 16th attempt by beating Geoff Atkinson 4-1, although he also lost to leader Billy Hague.

It was business as usual for second-placed Phil Bointon as he beat John Bristow 3-2 and Geoff Atkinson 5-0, including a brilliant 12-dart leg and a 131 checkout.

Andy Wall beat Steve Taylor 4-1 in a top-class match with legs of 16, 16 and 17 darts.

In the ‘B’ league, Jonny Smith pushed Olly Mitchell close before losing 3-2 to the Yorkshire Superleague player. Alan Dawson scraped home 3-2 over cousin Steve Dawson, and Rich Webster enjoyed a good night to move level with Dawson in third.
