Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers runner Hester Cook finished fifth in the women’s section of the Frost Bite 30 Ultra Race, writes Toby Latham.

Cook, who finished the 30-mile course which includes approximately 3,000 feet of climbing, completed the race in five hours, five minutes and 27 seconds.

Other Harriers David Goddard, Ian Codling, Pam Sherlock and Marian Codling also all finished the Great Langdale Christmas Pudding 10k Race in 346th, 436th, 464th and 469th respectively.

The Harriers are back in action next month with the start of the Club Championship.

The contest begins with a cross country fixture at Summerhill, Hartlepool, on January 12, followed by the Broughton Woods Wobble Fell Race on February 2.
