Scarborough Athletic hope to make it eight wins on the trot

Gazette & Herald: . .

Scarborough Athletic will look to make it eight Evo-Stik League division one south wins on the trot when they go to bottom club Eastwood Town tomorrow.

They took their sequence to seven in midweek with a 4-0 win over lowly Brigg Town, avenging their recent surprise League Cup loss.

They needed Jason White to superbly deny Zebras striker Philip Jackman in the opening half-hour but then cruised to victory as Pete Davidson’s opener, heading in Tom Davie’s cross, was followed by a Gary Bradshaw hat-trick.

His first came from the rebound after Chris Bolder’s header was parried, his second after beating the offside trap and his third from the spot after Andy Milne was upended in a scramble.

The Seadogs now lie ninth with games in hand.

Harrogate Railway host Ossett Town in a mid-table division one north clash.

Harrogate Town, meanwhile, are targeting a third Conference North win in a week at home to Gloucester City – when three points could lift Simon Weaver’s men into the play-off spots.

Confidence was bolstered by a 3-1 midweek win at Hednesford in which the hosts took an early lead only for Harrogate, boosted by the return to the defence of captain Shane Killock, to net in a superb second-half display through Liam Hardy, Chris Hall, on 82 minutes, and, in stoppage time, fellow sub Cleveland Taylor.

Admission tomorrow is £1 for adults and free for under-18s.
