Racing Pulse, winner of both his races when trained in Ireland, is fancied to complete a hat-trick on his debut for North Yorkshire trainer John Quinn at Newcastle this afternoon.

The four-year-old makes his British debut in the S V Rutter Novices’ Hurdle and will be partnered by James Reveley.

Previously under the care of Micheal Winters, Racing Pulse won a point-to-point and a bumper on his first two starts. He looks a potentially smart horse and the trip today of two and three-quarter miles looks ideal for him to begin his hurdling career. He promises to go well.

Brian Harding has been knocking in the winners in recent weeks and the veteran Cumbrian jockey can add to his rising tally aboard Simply Ned in the Malone Novices’ Chase.

A talented hurdler, Simply Ned fell on his chasing bow, but he has since won at Ayr and finished a good second to Fargo at Haydock. This looks a good opportunity for Nicky Richards’ gelding to resume winning ways.

Sheriff Hutton trainer Tim Walford has good prospects of winning the Complete Building Services Handicap Hurdle with Ruby Bay.

The eight-year-old returned from a lengthy absence to finish second to Home Run at Southwell last week. Provided his second outing does not come too quickly after a previous long lay-off, Ruby Bay has a good chance.

Get The Papers should not be overlooked in the North Sea Logistics Novices’ Handicap Chase.

Although ultimately well beaten into fifth at Musselburgh last time out, Pauline Robson’s charge had made the running until blundering at the fourth-last fence after being backed into 11-8 favourite. He is worth another chance off bottom weight.

Barry Keniry, rider of Get The Papers, has double prospects aboard nap choice Wolf Sword in the swarlandfence.co.uk National Hunt Flat Race.

Trained at Middleham by George Moore, Wolf Sword was withdrawn on this course last month when playing up badly before the race on his debut. He had come in for support that day and was clearly expected to put up a good show, which indeed he did at Haydock three weeks ago when he did little wrong and finished fourth to Desoto County.

Wolf Sword looks a fair prospect and, provided none of the newcomers in this bumper are something special, he ought to make a bold bid.

The feature race at Huntingdon is the £60,000 Betfred Peterborough Chase, in which Module will not be short of supporters.

The Tom George-trained gelding, a good fourth in the Jewson Chase at last season’s Cheltenham Festival, made a bright start to the current campaign when beaten only a head by Somersby in the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter.

If he reproduces that display, Module should run a major race in this Grade 2 contest, which also features the useful Captain Chris, runner-up in last season’s King George VI Chase and the former high-class Riverside Theatre, who was confined to only three outings last season.

Une Artiste found Buthelezi just too strong over fences recently, but Nicky Henderson’s talented five-year-old has every chance of going one better in the Betfred Mares’ Novices’ Chase.

Also worthy of attention are Faith Keeper (2.30) and Go West Young Man (3.00), of the in-form Henry Daly stable.
