FREE-SCORING Pickering Town are the goal kings of the Northern Counties East League premier division in the wake of their 8-1 win at Winterton Rangers.

The Pikes’ eight-goal haul followed their 11-0 mauling of Lincoln Moorlands the previous weekend and takes their goal tally to 73.

Joe Danby’s second hat-trick in eight days helped the Mill Lane club overhaul Barton Town Old Boys at the top of the scoring charts.

Danby set the ball rolling on 21 minutes and Ged Dalton grabbed a second two minutes later, before Danby wrapped up his treble in the three minutes before the break.

Josh Greening got on the scoresheet two minutes after half-time, while Sam Calvert scored on 65 minutes and Daniel O’Connor added a seventh on 76 minutes.

Jack Finnis prevented the whitewash with a 77th-minute penalty for Rangers, but Jimmy Beadle rounded off the Pickering tally with three minutes remaining.

Leaders Tadcaster Albion notched their 23rd game unbeaten as they bettered Heanor Town 2-0 at Ings Lane. The Brewers took the lead through Denny Ingram’s eighth-minute header and then George Bissett teed up a second for Josh Barrett on 55 minutes.

There was no game for Selby Town in division one, but Knaresborough Town were 3-1 winners over Louth Town thanks to goals from Colin Heath, George Eustance and Seb Carole.

Eighth-placed Harrogate Town were 3-2 winners at home to Altrincham in Conference North.

The Wetherby Roaders led 3-0 after only 22 minutes thanks to an opener from Ashley Worsfold and then two strikes by Michael Woods.

Two goals apiece from Ryan Blott and Gary Bradshaw helped earn Scarborough Athletic a 5-0 home win obver Kidsgrove Athletic in Evo-Stik League division one south.

All the goals came in the second half, with Blott scoring on 52 minutes and then nine minutes later.

Bradshaw netted in the 67th and 71st minutes, before Chris Bolder rounded off the win with an 85th minute strike.

Harrogate Railway conceded twice in the second half in their 2-0 defeat at Salford City in division one north.
