Billy Hague jumped to second place in the ‘A’ division of the Pickering Individual League with 5-0 and 4-1 victories respectively over Steve Taylor and Phil Taylor.

Hague recorded 22 100-plus scores along the way.

Young Cameron Spiller followed suit in beating Jon Rule 5-0 and Andy Wall 4-1. Wall still hangs on to top spot after defeating Geoff Atkinson 3-2.

Rule recorded a surprise 3-2 win over Phil Bointon with nine 100-plus scores in a good performance.

Geoff Atkinson hit the fastest leg of the night – a 13 darter against John Bristow (140, 140, 100, 83, 38 checkout).

Yorkshire Superleague recruit Olly Mitchell almost has the ‘B’ league sewn up at the halfway stage with an 11-point lead over Alan Dawson and Rich Webster.

Mitchell has hit 85 100-plus scores in his 10 matches including 24 on Friday. Webster had a good night with three wins moving him up to joint second place.

Station Hotel pulled off a good 4-3 win over a depleted Horseshoe ‘A’ in week nine of the Pickering League, with Rob Willett getting them off to a winning start with some good darts for legs of 21 and 27 including a maximum.

Captain John Bristow hit a 71 finish for a 21-darter to put WMC ‘B’ in front against Royal Oak.

Oak hit back to lead 2-1 as Prod Fenwick hit finishes of 64 and 76 and Steve Dawson rounded off a 18-darter with a 120 outshot. But Keith Eddon with three 140s, a 135, two 100s, and a 19-dart leg replied as Club won 4-3.

Black Swan took six points from their trip to Horseshoe ‘B’. Mike Barnes notched a 114 finish in an 18-dart leg, while Sammy Cass threw a maximum and legs of 19 and 21.

Bointon got Rec Club off to a good start, hitting a 17-dart leg, while Al Dawson followed with an 82 finish and legs of 17 and 21 darts as their side defeated WMC ‘A’ 5-2.

Sun Inn ‘B’ hammered their ‘A’ team 7-0, the highlight being a 74 finish by Al Hodgson.

Meanwhile, in the Moors League, Buck Inn ‘A’ gave leaders New Inn a scare, taking three of the seven individual legs through Dave Ord (138, 3x100), Jane Falshaw and Pop Ellerby.

However, New Inn replied through Darren Allanson, Mike Hodgson, Nie Monkman (180, 140, 100) and Ady Cook before taking the pairs and threes for a 7-3 victory.

White Swan closed the gap to New Inn to two points after seeing off Coach House ‘A’ 9-1, Keith Eddon starring with a 34-dart leg. Becky Mussett gained House’s consolation.

Moors Inn stayed in touch as they won 9-1 against Blacksmiths Arms ‘A’. Derek Bannister (140, 100), Keith Dickson (121, 2x100) and Mike Barnes (121, 2x100) starred.

Crown Inn finally got their season going with a 8-2 victory at Coach House ‘A’. Norman Tinsley’s return to the team yielded a 140 while Darren Sunley notched 125 and 121.

Sun Inn turned a 5-0 lead into a 7-3 victory helped by singles wins from Richard Wilson (3x100), Neil Robson (135, 100), Martin Allen (140), Geoff Allen (100) and Emma Bentley. Sun’s Richard Dixon hit 140 and 100 but lost to Buck’s Mike Peirson, while Clive Atkinson (134, 100) gained the other point for Buck.
