Junior taster day at Malton and Norton Golf Club
11:40am Saturday 19th October 2013 in Sport
The club is keen to increase the number of children taking part in the sport and have been impressed by a recent and successful coaching programme with local schools.
Said the club’s managing secretary Richard Jagger: “We have worked closely with local schools in the last four weeks to deliver free coaching for school children, and this has been a resounding success.
“On the back of this, we would like to extend this invitation to all local children to come and try the game.
“You never know, we might even discover the next Simon Dyson.”
The event will be held on Tuesday, October 29 from 9.30am to 12.30pm, open to five to 16-year-olds.
There will be Tri-golf games, a par-three competition, free use of the driving range, along with tuition from fully qualified PGA professional Michael Brooks, free nine holes of golf on the Derwent course, and complimentary tea and coffee for parents.
Anyone interested in attending the taster day should phone the club on 01653 696712 to reserve a place.
