Darts: Gardner hits the tons as Blacksmiths ‘B’ go top

BLACKSMITHS ‘B’ Lastingham have the early advantage after three weeks of the Moors League campaign.
Blacksmiths eased into a 4-0 lead at Coach House ‘A’ thanks to wins for Rob Allanson, Jonno Bointon, Paul Miers and Matty Gardner, who fired in scores of 121 and 100, before Chris O’Hara, Matt Cook and Jimmy Porter pulled House back into the game.
’Smiths enjoyed the better of the pairs and threes to win the match 6-4.
With champions New Inn having a bye, last season’s runners-up White Swan took advantage with a solid 7-3 victory at Buck Inn ‘A’.
Keith Eddon starred for Swan with a 180 maximum, while Josh Greenlay scored well for Buck with a 140 and two tons but lost out to Neil Eddon.
Moors Inn also won 7-3 at Sun Inn after singles wins by Andrew Hill, who hit a 125 and a 110, Keith Dickson and Andrew Tock gave them a flying start.
Sun rallied briefly through Bob Sellars, who claimed two 140s and a 116, and Neil Robson, hit three 100s in 31, but Moors quickly regained control.
Moors’ Sam Dickson and Sun’s Martyn Allen each recorded a 140.
Pete Dowsland put Crown Inn ahead against visitors Buck Inn ‘B’, but Col Ward, Clive Atkinson and Bud Sharples set Buck on the way to an impressive 7-3 victory.
Richard Thompson hit a 140 and two 100s for Coach House ‘B’ as he beat Mally Durrant of Blacksmiths Arms ‘A’ in the game of the night at Lastingham. Durrant included scores of 140 and 100.
Clair Price hit back immediately for Blacksmiths and further wins by Adam Durrant, Andy Biggins and Matt Durrant set the home team up for a narrow 6-4 victory.
