Ryedale Sports Club Reserves cruise through in Hospital Cup

A SUPERB second-half display saw Ryedale Sports Club Reserves storm into round two of the Ryedale Hospital Cup with a 5-0 win over Duncombe Park.
All the goals came after the break as Robbie Preston netted on 47 and 48 minutes, both following assists by John Sherwood.
Matty Gardner scored a solo goal on 55 minutes, a low drive by man-of-the-match Sherwood made it 4-0 after 68 minutes and the goal of the game rounded off the win when Sherwood crossed for 16-year-old Lewis Danby to finish on 75 minutes.
In the second round, Ryedale will entertain Easingwold Town 3rds.
Rosedale won 3-0 at Bagby & Balk in round two of the Gordon Harrison Memorial Trophy.
Rosedale’s Adam Ridley opened the scoring on 10 minutes after the Bagby ’keeper dropped the ball.
In the second half, Bagby & Balk improved but were unable to beat Rosedale ’keeper Shaun Dowson. Their best chance fell to Dan Kendall, whose 25-yard free-kick hit the crossbar.
Rosedale had to wait until the last 10 minutes to add to their goal tally, with both scored by Matthew Tyreman.
Bagby’s man-of-the-match winner was Bagby centre-back Peter Gray, while midfielder Tyreman shared the Rosedale award with right winger Mark Raw.
Division two side Snainton Reserves lost 7-0 at home to Union Rovers.
Rovers led 3-0 at half-time with goals from Paul Holder, James Langthorne and Ben Webster.
Second-half goals were added by Holder, Webster, man-of-the- match Nicky Drew, and substitute Sean Willie.
Centre-back Kevin Craig was Snainton’s main man.
Meanwhile, Heslerton lost 3-0 at home to Pocklington Town 2nds in round one of the East Riding County FA Junior Country Cup.
Left-back Mikey Clark was Heslerton’s man of the match.
Rillington Athletic’s first team lost 8-0 at Beverley-based Lord Nelson.
