Pressure on Simon Dyson as he enters last weeks of season

THE old golf saying of “putting for dough” will be examined closely by York-born Simon Dyson as he enters the crucial last six weeks of the season.
Dyson has just three top-notch tournaments left for him to seal a place in the European Tour’s grand finale – the Race To Dubai’s DP World Tour Championship in mid-November.
Out of action this week after failing to make the Great Britain and Ireland team to play Europe for the annual Seve Trophy in Paris, Dyson will take to the practice putting green after his recent hot streak evaporated in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship last week.
He resumes competitive duty next week in the Portugal Masters at the Oceanico Club in Vilamoura.
The 35-year-old, who has dropped to 62nd in the Race To Dubai rankings – the top 60 qualify for the finale – misses the Perth International in Australia, before next playing in the BMW Masters in China from October 24 to October 27, and then in the Turkish Open in Antalya from November 7 to 10.
Both those events carry prize funds of $7 million, the latter in Turkey the final outing before the Race To Dubai climax. Dyson’s world ranking position has stayed unchanged at 153.
