Simon Dyson’s Italian form fades despite promising start
10:50am Monday 23rd September 2013 in Sport
A PROMISING start got bogged down in the 70s to stymie Simon Dyson’s push for conquest at the aptly-named 70 Open d’Italia Lindt.
The York-born ace put himself in a strong position after a three-under-par opening day 69 at the Golf de Torino in Turin.
But he then could not escape higher scores.
The second proved the most damaging – a 74 comprising three bogeyed holes to a solitary birdie.
His four-round total of 286 left him tied for 50th place, ten shots off the winner, Frenchman Julien Quesne who topped the field by one shot.
