Simon Dyson surges into weekend rounds of European Masters
10:47am Saturday 7th September 2013 in Sport
A scorching finish propelled York golf ace Simon Dyson into the weekend rounds of the European Masters.
The 35-year-old ace rattled in three birdies over his last three holes to seal his place.
Starting yesterday’s second round on the tenth, Dyson collected his first birdie on the 12th hole before dropping a shot on the 16th to make him level at the half-way stage of the round.
He birdied the first hole but put himself under pressure – and in danger of missing the cut – when he dropped shots on the fourth and fifth holes.
The halfway lead was held by Scotland’s Stephen Gallacher and Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn, both on ten-under-par.
