Scarborough Beckett League: Thornton-le-Dale claim division C title

Thornton-Le-Dale claimed the division C title in the Readers Scarborough Beckett League in fine style.
After being put in to bat on their own pitch by Staithes 2nds, Tim Hunt (76) Lyle King (30) and Colin Lockwood (27no) took the home team to 225-8 at tea, Stuart Theaker claiming (3-77) and Lee Oliver (3-55) for the visitors.
After the break, Staithes battled to end on 121-9, as Colin Lockwood (3-11) and Daniel Hill (3-29) restricted scoring opportunities.
Ganton took second place, racing to 267-8 against Scalby 2nds. Stuart Ward (105) and Alastair Limb (86) featured in a third-wicket partnership of 148 for Ganton. After the break, Scalby were all out for 110, Alastair Limb (3-9) and James Richardson (4-16) completing a successful season for Ganton.
In a high scoring match at Seamer, Ravenscar made 264-4 after 45 overs as Ivan Kirk (96) and Robin Coulson (70) scored heavily. Seamer 2nds got within 12 runs of victory thanks to David Graham (69), Andy Ward (27) Steven Winwood (39no) and Richard Lawty (34no) taking the home team to 255-8 at the close.
Heslerton 2nds were bowled out for 91 at Wykeham, as Dan Bateson claimed (4-15) and James Fox (4-16) but the home team did not have things all their own way losing eight wickets before gaining victory, Mark Dring claiming (6-41) for Heslerton.
Ebberston 2nds ended their season on a high bowling Cloughton 2nds out for 179 at Ebberston. An unbeaten third wicket partnership of 83 between Joe Tyson (73) and Joe Dunning (45) resulted in victory for Ebberston by eight wickets.
