Senior Cricket League: Carlton Towers deny in-form Pocklington

Steve Houltham led the way with a knock of 100 as Pocklington rattled up 274-7 in their division six clash with Carlton Towers in the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.
Houltham was supported by Ted Donkin, with 62, and Chris Saltmer, with 34. Carlton Towers earned a draw at 181-6.
Mike Millington made 78 but Bartram (3-24) joined forces with James Pullein (4-20) to dismiss the pace-setters for 148.
Bartram then hit 63 not out as he shared a 102-run partnership with Dan Woodhead (40).
Copmanthorpe closed in on the leaders after beating Hovingham by five wickets.
Ali Thorpe made 33 and Kev Wilson 40 but Sunny Sharma took 5-36 as Hovingham were pegged to 136-8. Sharma then followed with 31 and Sandeep Bhargava hit 66 as Copmanthorpe moved to 137-5.
At Thorp Arch, veteran Stuart Craven top-scored with 76 in Woodhouse Grange’s 205 all out. Sam Shipley took 3-27 but the Arch drew at 157-5.
In division seven, Drax’s dismal season continued when they were skittled for 41 by Tadcaster Magnets in a ten-wicket defeat. John Wetherall took 4-8 and then his 40 of his side’s winning 42-0.
