KIRKBYMOORSIDE youngster Dan Peace starred at Scarborough District Motor Club’s charity Red Nose Trial on Sunday.

Whitby’s Andy Chilton adapted well to new ‘no stop’ rules, continuing his great run to take the expert win from Pocklington youngster Ollie Kendra.

Only the huge greasy rock step of section 10 caused Chilton bother, losing five marks, while Kendra did better here with three lost. But rising youth ‘A’-winning star Peace topped everyone, recording three fantastic cleans to give him best overall score of the day on just seven marks lost, which included a five on the third section first lap.

Wombleton’s Shane Monkman was a clear winner in clubman ‘A’, and Jack Peace cleaned up in youth intermediate.

Comedy red noses abounded for this trial at the old Army camp at Low North Park – while observers had ruddy cheeks, too, due to a bitter east wind. Scarborough DMC would like to thank all who supported the event, which raised funds for Comic Relief.
