Trial Biking: Two podium places for Hunter family

THORNTON-LE-DALE talent dominated clubman ‘B’ class at Thirsk DMC’s trial at Long Plain Farm, Hambleton, on Sunday, as the Hunter family occupied two podium places.

Danny Hunter won from Barrie Darrell, who was on his first ride for 14 months after crashing heavily practising for motocross and suffering serious injuries. Hunter’s younger sister, Kate, grabbed third place.

Wombleton’s Shane Monkman was pipped to the prize in the clubman ‘A’ class, beaten on most cleans rule by Mark Cameron over the four-lap, ten-section course around the steep-sided valley.

Whitby’s Andy Chilton won the expert class from Scarborough’s Simon Kershaw.
