Pool: Derwent Arms B close in on title

Derwent Arms B are closing in on the Malton & Norton division ‘A’ title as they cut the lead at the top to three points with a game in hand.
Union ‘A’ remain top after a 5-2 win over Bright Steels ‘A’ but Derwent ‘B’ pulled closer with a 7-0 whitewash over Hyde Park ‘A’.
Malton Cons look assured of third as they beat Derwent Arms ‘A’ 5-2.
Hyde Park ‘B’ got out of the drop zone as they beat Union ‘B’ 5-2 to go a point ahead of Queens Head, who lost 5-2 to Railway Tavern ‘A’.
Division ‘B’ leaders Spotted Cow had a free week and Bright Steels ‘B’ closed the gap to the top to one point, with a game in hand, as they whitewashed Railway Club.
Third-placed Blacksmith Arms beat Kings Head ‘B’ 6-1.
In the ladies individual comp, champion Kirsty Taylor booked her place in the final as she beat a resilient Karen Lobley 2-1.
