Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers head to Acklam

THIRSK & Sowerby Harriers runner Pat Kirby led her club-mates home at the Acklam cross country fixture, finishing 33rd in 30 minutes 11 seconds.

Carol Morrison came home 36th in 31-19, Christine Burn was in a three-way tussle for the finish, coming 46th in 34-40, ahead of Claire Gillan, who was 47th in 34-45 and Faith Coy, who was 48th in 34-47.

Geoff Bullock finished second in the V65 category in 28-30.

In the senior men’s event, Stephan Tomaszewski was 26th in 45-11, Walter Busuttil came 30th in 45-39, Merv Burn 33rd in 46-05, Rob Burn 35th in 46-22 and Rob Lickley 50th in 49-06.

At Glaisdale Fell Race, Sarah Glover was 76th in 84-10, leading Harriers to the women’s team prize.
