10:47am Monday 4th March 2013 in Sport
Wiggy’s Eddy Clapham and Jamie Green were sent off along with Old Malton’s Tom Fenwick after a fight broke out involving the majority of the 22 players.
Referee Neil Howlett took the decision to abandon the match in the 38th minute with the Ryedale side leading their hosts 3-0.
League officials will discuss the incident at their next management meeting.
Premier division leaders Dunnington needed a goal two minutes from time to beat division one Hemingbrough.
Dunnington fell behind to a Darryl Tate goal but Scott Sullivan levelled before the break.
A Tom Matthews penalty put the top flight side in front and, although Jon Wileman levelled, Tom Richards struck a late winner.
The visitors rallied with Matthew Wash scoring either side of the interval, but Panthers held on.
York St John beat Total Sports on penalties after a 1-1 draw. A late equaliser from Tom Robinson cancelled out Liam Wadsworth’s opener for the students.
Alex Yates scored twice for Terrington in a 3-0 win at Aviva. Jordan Grose completed the scoring.
Rowntrees hit three goals in the final three minutes at Pocklington to win 6-1. Dan Marshall (2), Andy Barrass, Paul Scaife, Kev Butler and Andy Barrett shared the Rowntrees tally, with Dave O’Connor hitting Pock’s reply.
Riccall United came from 3-0 down at home to York RI to win 8-4. There were hat-tricks for Tom Littlewood and Gary Collier, while Wayne Brook and Dave Heron also netted. Lee Powell and Mark Woodward shared the RI goals.
The all-division one tie between St Clement’s and Tockwith was settled by a penalty five minutes from time by Will Richmond.
Earlier, Graham Hutchinson had put Tockwith in front, with Mike Heels equalising for Saints.
